OKR Tracker For Jira Setup Guide

This is the one-page setup guide for Atlassian Marketplace listing and customer onboarding.

## Prerequisites

  • Jira Cloud site
  • Atlassian admin rights to install Marketplace apps

## Install

  1. Open the app listing in Atlassian Marketplace.
  2. Start a trial or purchase a subscription.
  3. Install the app into your Jira Cloud site.

## First Launch

After installation, open Apps → OKR Tracker in Jira and follow these three steps to get a working OKR structure:

### 1. Create a period

A period is the time window your objectives live in (a quarter, a half, a year — whatever cadence you use).

  • Open the Periods tab in the sidebar.
  • Add a new period with a name and start/end dates.
  • The period you create becomes selectable in the top bar of the Objectives view.

### 2. Create a team and add members

Teams group people who own and execute on objectives together.

  • Open the Teams tab in the sidebar.
  • Create a team (give it a name and a color).
  • Add members by their Jira accounts — they will be available as owners and assignees on objectives and key results.

### 3. Create your first Objective

  • Open the Objectives tab and select the period you just created.
  • Click + Add Objective, give it a title, and (optionally) assign a team and an owner.
  • Inside the objective, you can nest:
    • Key results — measurable outcomes that track progress.
    • Sub-objectives — when an objective decomposes into smaller objectives owned by other teams or people.
    • Linked Jira issues — to connect the goal to the actual delivery work in Jira.

That’s it — your first OKR is live. Repeat for the rest of your objectives.

## Licensing Behavior

  • Active and trial licenses allow normal app usage.
  • Inactive paid license shows a license-required experience and blocks mutating actions.
